BOL CHILD is a nonprofit organization registered U/s 25 of the Companies Act. Our registered office is at Kalkaji, New Delhi. Our Corporate office is at IIT Powai, Mumbai. BOL CHILD has acquired the 12AA and 80G Certificates from the Indian government for tax rebate to any donors. Almost like a nickname, we like to call ourselves BOL, from the Hindi word 'Boli' which means, the 'voices or language'. BOL CHILD has been working with children since 2009, even before it was officially registered.
Debjani Mukherjee, the co-founder of BOL CHILD is an independent animation filmmaker, researcher and educator. Her independent short films have won international awards at various animation film festivals around the world, she has presented her work with BOL CHILD at various international academic conferences and has also been invited as a Jury member for festivals. Presently, she is pursuing PhD from IIT Bombay, India, her topic being - 'Indigenous Art Pedagogy' where she works with the adivasi Bhil artist community of India. She graduated from The National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, in 2009.
Shayok Banerjee is a singer, performer, composer and teacher. He has been a Music teacher for 3 years at Oberoi International School,Mumbai for Middle school. He has been working with the film and music Industry of Bengal for over a decade. He has numerous albums and awards to his credit. He has performed at over 1250 live concerts at National and International venues along with playback for feature films. He has lent his voice for advertisements and collaborated with industry stalwarts like Farhan Akhtar, Anurag Basu and Shah Rukh Khan. He has conducted music workshops for children in India and other countries, and has designed new musical instruments with them.
