What is SMTA?

Counselling through arts adopts creative expressions to connect with people. Through the medium of arts, participants are encouraged to release stress, revive, trigger energy levels, acknowledge issues, create awareness and address the situation in a protected environment.

Identifying the Gap

Stress is a reaction to a stimulus that disturbs our physical or mental equilibrium causing hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol to surge through the body. It results in the fight-or-flight responce. SMTA designs a unique approach to address the issue.

Addressing the Problem

The purpose of SMTA is essentially one of healing. At BOL, visual art and art medium vary from painting to music to films that is employed within the therapeutic process to address and solve the problems. A goal in art therapy is to improve his or her sense of personal well-being.


Arts trigger the creative process, and the resultant artworks reflect their feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, manage behavior and addictions, develop social skills, improve reality orientation, reduce anxiety, and increase self-esteem.

The above benefits are also accompanied by beautiful films, picture books, artworks, music concerts and plays. For the parents and teachers, we have qualitative and quantitative growth analysis reports, councelling sessions and bi-annual parent teacher workshops.
